Algorta
Algorta is where i lived for most of the years of my live. But now I live in a near village called Berango.
Algorta belongs to Getxo wich is situated 14 kilometres north of Bilbao. Getxo was a rural area, including a large beach , centered on the little fishing village of Algorta. But now is a big village with many thins to do. It has many beautiful beaches and mountains, and you can do many sea sports like sailing or surfing.
But apart of this is a very nice pace where you can visit some nice places. It is a great place to pass holidays becouse in summer there are many music festivals, and you can go to the beach or visit the touristics places. It is a nice place wich i really like.

Getxo
I was born in Bilbao but I have lived in Getxo all my life, in the neighbourhood of Santa Maria de Getxo.
Santa María de Getxo (in basque Getxoko Andra Mari) is one of the five districts that are in the municipality of Getxo, Biscay, Basque Country in the north of Spain.
Getxo is a tursitic place (there is a famous bridge called "Puente Colgante" , a lot of big and beautiful houses near the beach of Ereaga...) and also you can go to beaches in summer, there are four:Las Arenas, Ereaga, Arrigunaga and Azkorri.
My neighbourhood includes the historical Church of Andra Mari, before which the municipal council met historically and one metro stop. It has two beaches: Azkorri and Arrigunaga, including in also the cape of Punta Galea.
There is an old part thart appears in the photo, it´s very beautifull to see it. There are white little houses and a port.
I was born in Cruces and I lived in Bilbao but when I was four I moved to Laukariz a village near Mungia. It´s located in the Uribe-butroi region, in Bizkaia and it is easily accessible as it is close to BILBAO and the airport of Loiu, just 20 kilometres from the coast.
Munguia is full of country houses in it is surroundings; some of them built between the 16th and the 18th centuries.Landetxo txokoa built at the begining of the 16th century that is considered the oldest country house in Bizkaia.Likewise, two romanesque bridges and some water mills are worth a visist. In addition of this many springs and underground brooks are abundant, affluent of the river Butron.
Sondika, a wonderful place to live
Sondika is a town near Bilbao which has many gardens on which you can lay to have a break with your friends, and which also has many cultural things like a library. IT also have a school, many shops, a swimmingpool, lots of bars...
Sondika is a well comunicated place, you can travel by bus ,and also by train which takes you to the near towns and to other places, and if you prefer the car, it only will take you 10 minutes to arrive where you want.
Sondika is known because of the old airport, which was near the town but nowadays, it is well-known because It is the location of Bilbao British Cemetery, which contains a Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery with 58 casualties.
To sum up I have to say that I think that the more you stay there, the less you want to leave.
If you like watching planes takin off you should come to sondika, because there are many places where you can have a wonderful view of them.

This is the city hall of bilbao where I live and where I have been living since always. Is not a beautiful city but it has monuments or museums like Guggenheim that make this city little bit special for tourism. Bilbao appeared in a film of James Bond " Tomorrow never dies" but as I have said only appears the Guggenheim the most famous part in the city
The people who live there is very comfortable and they treated you very well

Leioa is the place where i have lived all my live. Is a calm and quiet town where there´s no much to do.
The municipality of Leioa still retains much of its agricultural past and out of the urban centre many traditional basque houses can still be seen on little family farms. The University of the Basque Country (EHU-UPV Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea - Universidad del Pais Vasco) has most faculties within this municipality and it´s one of the best universities in the basque country.
There are also many schools, so lots of students go there all the days.
Despite it´s a good place to live,it has also some disadvantages, such as: the metro is far away from the town, so the people has to walk a lot and the public transport isn´t very good.
DEUSTO, Bilbao
This is my hometown, Deusto. I have lived here since I was born and I would like to live here as much as I can. It's the only place I have known, but I like it a lot.
Nowadays is a neighbourhood of Bilbao, but some years ago, Deusto was a village with its own mayor. The population wasn´t as big as today and most of the people worked as farmers. The most typical products were tomatoes ( that's why it appears on most of the shields). The football team, also wears a red T-shirt referring to them.
There are plenty of attractions: swimming pool, cinema, shopping centre, parks, a lot of bars, 4 schools... The area is not big very big, so, fortunately, everything is very near.
In my opinion, it is a good place to live. The more you stay, the less you want to go. Everything is quite near. So you can be in a park and if it starts to rain there is no problem, because in five minutes you can be in a shopping center eating a Burger without getting wet.
Bilbao, Bizkaia
Take a stroll along the riverside and enter the Old Quarter, home to many fascinating buildings. Here you’ll find the world famous Guggenheim Museum. The Guggenheim in Bilbao has a reputation for being one of the greatest buildings of the 20th century. Its many fascinating exhibits and grounds are a definite must.
Although the Guggenheim reflects the beauty of 20th century architecture, Bilbao is packed full of historical architecture. Visit the Puente Colgante, the first hanging transporter bridge built in 1893 which is still in use today. Some of the monasteries where built in the 10th century. Strolling through the streets of Bilbao is a walking tribute to the many different types of architecture that have brought us to the designs in use today.
Its football team is Athletic Club . The club has played in the Primera División of La Liga since its start in 1928. Of the founding members, only Athletic, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona, have never been relegated. Athletic are historically one of the most successful clubs. They have won La Liga on eight occasions and the Copa del Rey twenty-four times.
They are known as the Rojiblancos or Zurigorri because of their red and white striped shirts and as Los leones because their stadium was built near a church called San Mamés. Mammes was an early Christian thrown to the lions by the Romans. The lions refused to eat Mames and he was later made a saint.
The club is known for its cantera policy of bringing young Basque players through the ranks, as well as recruiting top Basque players from other clubs . Athletic only signs professional players native to one of the seven Basque provinces: Biscay, Guipuscoa, Álava and Navarre in Spain and Labourd, Soule and Lower Navarre in France. This has gained Athletic both admirers and critics. The club has been praised for promoting home grown players and club loyalty. Critics however see the cantera policy as exclusivist.
This is my town, I hope you to enjoy it like I do.
MY FROFILE
Zeanuri is my village. I have lived there since I was born.
Zeanuri is a beautiful Basque town at the foot of Mount Gorbeia. It is a small town and at the moment, the are living there 1,200 people more or less. There is not a very good village to do cultural tourism because there aren´t many things to visit but you can visit lots of small churches that there are in different neighbourhoods around the village. But it is an excelent place to relax and to enjoy walking around the mountains.
There are few bars but all are excellent to eat a traditional food.
It is a fantastic village, so I hope that you are goin to come soon.
Leith, Scotland
Leith is my hometown. I wasn't born there but I spent some of the most important years of my life there.
It is a port town on the estuary (or firth in Scots language) of The River Forth in Eastern Scotland and is now a part of Edinburgh, the capital city.
Leith used to be a bustling, busy port but went into decline in the second half of the 20th century. By the 1980s it had a reputation for poverty and drug problems. This was portrayed in the novels of Irvine Welsh, one of which,Trainspotting, was made into a successful film.
Nowadays, Leith is a great place to live and work. The port area has been redeveloped and a lot of the warehouses and factories have been converted into flats and offices, many of which have great views of the sea. There are alot of local amenities including a shopping centre, a cinema, a swimming pool and a lot of restaurants and bars.
Leith has it's own football team, Hibernian F.C., who are currently in third position in The Scottish Premier League. The club was formed in 1875 by Irish immigrants. This explains the name which means "Irish" in Latin.
The song Sunshine On Leith by The Proclaimers is the anthem of both the town and the football club and is famous throughout Scotland.
